A Word From My Character...

I am Theresa Campbell, a 25 year old New Yorker who has four children, all with different fathers. I started having babies when I was 15 years old and I really believe that I was in love with each of the babies' fathers. But, the fathers of the children always ended up leaving me. My sister says that I'm better off without them. I love my kids but it's not so fun being a single mom on welfare. I usually have a boyfriend, but, I keep meeting a lot of losers. I need a good guy to treat me right and to love my kids too. That's not so easy to find. Anyhow, That's my life, in a nutshell. It ain't champagne on the beaches of France, but, I don't like champagne and I burn easily anyway.

Dr. Becker suggested one time that I put Velcro between my thighs and when I hear the sound, you know, the sound of Velcro ripping, that I should stop and think about what I'm doing. Dr. Becker is pretty tough on me, but I know he's just tryin' to help. There was another time when I ended up in Dr. Becker's office because I was exhausted all the time and I thought something was wrong with me. I fell asleep in his office. Dr. Becker just covered me with my jacket and turned the lights off. See, that was kind of sweet, so I know that Dr. Becker ain't such a bad guy after all.
